On March 23, 1850, an
act to incorporate the town of Maineville in Warren County was
drawn up. The act consisted of six sections and was passed by
the General Assembly of the State of Ohio and was signed by Benjamin
F. Leiter, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Charles G.
Convers, Speaker of the Senate. By this act, Maineville became
the first and only incorporated town in Hamilton Township. The first
election of officers was held April 2, 1850 from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M.
with Joseph Dennet and Joseph Whitney acting as judges. The
following officers were elected:
